Quimbee was purchased by Barbri. As of yet, we see no major changes in the site. But our original review still stands. We are curious if there will be any changes and whether Barbri will substitute its materials in lieu of the NCBE outlines.
As for our take on Barbri, there is only one statistic that matters when choosing a bar review course, and that is how many students took the course or even signed up, and how many actually passed the bar.
Barbri does not publish its pass rates. They say that 9 out of 10 students who actually complete their program and do the work pass the bar. Side-stepping the answer speaks volumes. Do we need to say more? Yes, raw statistics are important, and being a future graduate of an ABA law school, they should matter to you, too.
I mean, they are #1 in bar reviews, so one can easily assume that most of the students who pass and most of the students who fail took their course. Not giving actual pass rates speaks volumes. Yes, it is true that generally anyone who puts in the work can pass a bar exam. But then again, why are ABA school graduates required to take a bar exam in the first instance?
One would think that a state bar exam would test the applicant on their knowledge of specific and important points of law where state law differs from other states and federal law, so that there is some kind of assurance that the applicant knows important and particular differences before allowing them to practice law in that state. But the graduates are simply tested on general points of law, with many of the questions repeated year after year because the applicants simply do not know the law.
In our strange little world, law school should consist of 2 years of study in 13 basic courses and two years of apprenticeship, and then an admissions test for a state centered on its important points of difference with other states and federal law. Schools should also offer specialization majors so lawyers can become “certified” in special areas of the law.
Of course, with all that success and costs, one has to wonder why every law school has created a new position in its offerings called academic success professors who help unqualified students pass law school and conduct what are nothing but bar reviews by the schools themselves for the rest of the students.
It would be great if the government got involved and required everyone involved in “law school” to publish their real numbers, including the minor fact that 50% of the lawyers who graduate from law school do not practice law 5 years after graduation.
It seems the government (populated with nothing but attorneys) does not care, so it will never happen.
But beware attorneys, as AI (Artificial Intelligence) gets better and better, it will begin to point out serious problems that exist in the law field, both in education and practice. The countdown timer on that clock has started, and things will be changing dramatically in the coming years.

If you think Quimbee is the hottest thing since sliced bread, then boy, do we have an amazing deal for you.
We have watched Quimbee progress over the past 2-3 years without commenting, but carefully noting what is going on.
We have just one short comment.
Just go to this site: The National Conference of Bar Examiners.
But before you do, take a close look at a lot of the Quimbee materials related to outlines, exams, bar exams, and multiple-choice questions. Then take a closer look at the same materials on the NCBE site.
NCBE has, for some time now, been running what they call COVID sales, and for $125 you can amazingly get all of their materials, which just so happens they are a good deal of the same materials that Quimbee is selling you for a lot more money.
From what we can tell, Quimbee licensed those materials from the NCBE for some obscene licensing fees, with an upfront fee and the likes of $9 per outline and $9 for single editions of past multi-guess questions the NCBE used on bar exams.
We were a bit too lazy to check out all the amazing coincidences in the materials, but most likely you should check everything so you don’t overpay by a lot of money.
So you pay a lot of money to get something that #1 should be free from NCBE, and that even the NCBE sells at massively deep discounts.
Just saying.
Tier 1 Level Stuff
But at least you can be assured that all the material is Tier 1 level stuff. We find such dribble to be hilarious and one of the main reasons that lawschoolsecretstosuccess was started. All we can say is the pathway to hell is paved with Ivy League degrees. Nowadays, we call these elitists smart, stupid people.
We have been starting to get a good deal of comments about their case briefs since this article was first posted. Here are the results of those comments. They are edited really well, and the grammar is great, but the case briefs and their facts and rules of law, along with the legal analysis, are short, concise, and mostly off point to what is talked about in class. People who love using the product love a 1 sentence explanation. Those who hate it realize it doesn’t talk about what professors talk about, and the facts are way too short to understand what is going on without having to read the case.
